Break the Fast

Break the Fast

Prayer & Fasting 2026

January 5–9, 2026

As a church, we are setting aside a week to seek God together through prayer and fasting. This is an intentional time to slow down, break from the normal rhythms of life, and create space for deeper spiritual transformation and connection with God.

Why We Fast

Fasting is a biblical practice that helps align our hearts with God. Throughout Scripture, fasting is used for mourning, repentance, preparation, personal transformation, breaking sinful strongholds, receiving divine direction, seeking miracles, and building unity.

We practice grace-based fasting—not to earn God’s favor, but because of His grace. Fasting is not about performance or appearances; it is about humility, obedience, and drawing closer to God.

“Whenever you fast, don’t be gloomy like the hypocrites. For they make their faces

unattractive so that their fasting is obvious to people. Truly I tell you, they have their

reward. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that your fasting

isn’t obvious to others but to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in

secret will reward you.”

— Matthew 6:16–18

How to Fast

There is no one-size-fits-all fast. We encourage you to pray and ask God what He is inviting you to give up. Some common options include:

  • Complete Fast – No solid food (liquids may vary based on health and length of fast)

  • Partial Fast – Daniel fast or one meal a day

  • Soul Fast – Stepping away from things like social media, secular entertainment, or other distractions

Whatever fast you choose, be intentional about replacing what you give up with prayer, Scripture, and worship. Fasting without prayer is simply a diet—this week is about meeting with God.

Corporate Prayer Gatherings

🙏 Prayer Night: Wednesday, January 7 | 6:30 PM
🍽️ Break the Fast Together: Friday, January 9 | 6:30 PM

Helpful Fasting Tips

  • Make a plan and write it down

  • Share your fast with someone who can encourage and support you

  • Choose a fast that stretches you but is realistic

  • Drink plenty of water and get rest

  • When cravings hit, let them be a cue to pray

  • Break your fast gently, especially after multiple days

We invite everyone to participate as God leads. Let’s pursue Him together and make room for what He wants to do in us and through us in 2026.

Worship Services

Please join us for weekly worship at 9AM or 11AM. We will sing a few songs and then you will hear a timely, straight-forward message based on the Bible that is designed to be helpful in your everyday life.

We also have Kids Ministry every Sunday at 9AM & 11AM.

  • Infants up to 3 years old can join us in the Nursery

  • Kids ages 3 years up to 6th grade are welcome to join us in the Bridge Kids wing

  • Middle Schoolers (6th-8th grade) meet Sundays during the 9AM service in the fellowship hall downstairs

  • High Schoolers (9th-12th grade) meet Sundays during the 9AM service in the High School Classroom

  • During the 11AM service, there will be a student section for Youth (6th-12th grade) on the main floor of the Sanctuary
